Your enrollment timeline

1

Now – November 1: Look over your 2027 options

  • Log into Workday to see your current 2026 choices. Think about what’s changed for you and your family this year — new doctors, medications, or major life moments — and check out your plan details before enrollment opens to get a sense of what you might need for next year.
  • Then look at what’s changing. With new networks, updated plans and new costs, the choice that made sense for you this year might not make sense next year.
  • If you’re considering enrolling in the BCBS PPO Plan, you can make sure your preferred providers are in-network by visiting bcbstx.com/caliber or call BCBS Health Advocate Solutions (HAS) at 1-855-552-7960.
  • This is also a good time to gather the information you’ll need if you want to enroll any dependents, like your spouse, domestic partnerDomestic PartnerYour domestic partner is someone you have a committed, intimate relationship with, shares your primary residence, and is at least 18 years old. or children. You’ll need their dates of birth and Social Security numbers. You may also need to verify your dependents by uploading documents like a marriage certificate, domestic partner affidavit or birth certificate.

November 2–13: Log into Workday and enroll

  • Between November 2–13, confirm your 2027 benefit choices, update your life insurance beneficiaries and set your contribution amounts for your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) in Workday.
  • You can also call the Benefits Center at 1-844-347-8941, Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. CT.

December 2026: Watch your mailbox

  • In late December, you’ll get new medical ID cards from Surest or BCBS. If you switched plans for 2027, be sure to use the new card and if you need extra copies, just contact your 2027 carrier directly.

  • If you’re on Surest or a BCBS plan, look for a welcome kit with your OneImaging sticker.
  • First time on an HSA or FSA? Your debit card comes in the mail too (Dependent Care FSA doesn’t get a card).

What if I don't enroll?

It depends on what you have today.

If you have the PPO medical plan:

You must choose a new medical plan for 2027. The PPO will not carry over. If you don’t enroll, you and anyone you cover won’t have medical coverage in 2027.

If you have Surest, Kaiser, or the HDHP Plan:

Your current medical coverage will carry over into 2027 if you don’t make a change.

For everyone:

There are two more things to take care of for 2027. You’ll need to add your life insurance beneficiaries in Workday. It’s important to add your beneficiaries. Without them on file, benefits could take longer to reach your loved ones if something happens to you.

And if you want to contribute to an HSA or FSA in 2027, you’ll need to make a new contribution election.

After Open Enrollment, you can only change your benefits if you have a qualifying life event, like getting married, welcoming a child, getting divorced or losing other coverage.

Take a few minutes now to make sure you’re set for 2027.
